Who I am
_________________________________
Hi! My name is Stephanie Tashiro-Townley. I am a proud Seattle native having attended primary and secondary schools in the Bellevue School District. After graduating high school, I attended the University of Washington where I received a Bachelor of Science in Zoology, with a focus on finishing pre-medical school requirements in 1989. After receiving the degree, I was hired as a professional sales representative for a pharmaceutical company and began tutoring English to Adult immigrants in Oregon. Life took a bit of a turn and I was blessed to find my soulmate, Scott, with whom I have been happily married for over 30 years.

I have been fortunate to be involved as a volunteer at my local church in various capacities, coaching soccer, and as an active member of the Boy Scouts organization. In my professional life, I have also enjoyed the challenges of being a marketing coordinator and project coordinator at Microsoft and then as a Project Manager, Program Manager, and PMO consultant for other companies like PACCAR and Safeco Insurance Company. I am also an experienced clarinet instructor, woodwind specialist, and have served as a co-director with my husband in a local organization teaching music to underserved youth. Needless to say, amongst all of the different hats that I have worn, I have enjoyed teaching the most.

In early 2008, I quit my job to assist one of my children with their academics when I fell into tutoring as a job.
Having worked in this industry since 2010, I can truly say that I love what I do. The power to encourage and teach a student to be successful and alleviate the stress of a parent and even those I tutor is an honor that I take seriously. I equip students with the skills they need for success: in their academics and in their lives. I look forward to hearing from you and helping with your academic journey.
